Haul Truck Operators – BBM Hot Seat Crew

The Opportunity:

South West Personnel are currently recruiting for a rare experience for Boddington local to apply for the next intake of Hot Seater Haul Truck Operators.

This crew of operators will be trained to accommodate a smooth hot seat changeover, a method to allow for continuous production mining where immediate replacement of outgoing Operator allows to keep trucks running 24/7.  It is essential that the pool of Hot Seat Crew members reside locally, flexible and available to work 6 to 8 hours daily across a 7 day rotating roster.

This roster will provide the flexibility to accommodate Operators that have family or other commitments beyond 6-8 hours per day.  Previous experience CAT 785 / 789 dump trucks essential.

Hot Seater Accountabilities:

  • Safe operation of mining dump trucks
  • Performing pre-start inspections and maintenance checks
  • Following strict safety procedures during hot seat changeover

Applications must be submitted with the below listed criterion considered:

  • Preparation to commence on a Haul Truck and complete your VOC hours and all required site safety training prior to being considered site competent for Safety Critical Work
  • Experience and/or haul truck knowledge and/or mobile plant operations within a mining/industrial environment
  • Quick to learn, listen, understand and demonstrate competency through safe work practices and operating procedures to ensure the safety guarantee is maintained by balancing production demands while working in line with non-negotiable mining HSE compliance
  • Fit, healthy and willing to undertake a pre-employment mining medical and random D&A testing, as required
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend registration interview in Boddington town with SWP/South32, if further shortlisted a Client pre-employment medical may then be arranged followed by onboarding processes and mobilisation to induction.

Only candidates meeting the desired experience level and who reside local to Boddington will be considered for the Hot Seat Crew.  CV must be current, including dates of employment and providing names and contact details of at least two recent work referees.
