At South West Personnel, we love being involved in the local community.
Whether it's participation in local fundraising and sporting events, or lending a helping hand to charities and non-profit groups, we do it with passion.

Check out what we've been up to lately...

RSPCA Cupcake Day

Cupcake Day for the RSPCA is a national event held on the third Monday in August. All proceeds go to the state-based RSPCA to help continue the fight to make animal cruelty a thing of the past.  Since its inception in 2007, Cupcake Day for the RSPCA has raised over $6.5M. All proceeds go back into RSPCA’s services to help stop cruelty.

At South West Personnel, the staff got together and raised $100 for this worthwhile cause!  AND we got to eat yummy cupcakes all day!

Jeans for Genes Day

Jeans for Genes Day is a national day when people wear their jeans to raise much-needed funds for research into birth defects and diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, and a range of genetic disorders.

On Friday 1st August, the South West Personnel staff raised $55.50 for the privilege to wear their jeans.  Well done team!

Foodbank - An Australia without Hunger

Foodbank is a not for profit charity that supplies food to the needy.  Foodbank has 6 branches in Western Australia with the Bunbury branch supplying over 700,000 meals each year.  Just recently, the Bunbury branch was supplied a new truck which is used to source fresh produce from suppliers and transport produce to Perth for distribution to other branches.

Unfortunately the new truck is only able to be loaded from the rear and this has become a major problem for the volunteers as the workload has become heavier.

South West Personnel have proudly donated funds for the purchase of new plastic bins to make loading the truck easier for the volunteers so this worthy charity can continue their valuable work in the community.

SIDS and Kids WA

South West Personnel are proud to be Corporate Sponsors of the Red Carpet Ball in Memory of Nate Brandis.  Nate was a beautiful, healthy and happy 10 month old baby boy who passed away in his sleep from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in July 2012.

By holding an annual Red Carpet Ball, the Brandis family hopes to raise enough funds to fund more SIDS and Kids programs for South West WA.  This event will take place at the South West Italian Club, White Street, Bunbury on the 30th August 2014.

SIDS, is the sudden death of an infant that is not predicted by medical history and remains unexplained after thorough investigation.

The work undertaken by SIDS and Kids WA needs to continue to support grieving families in WA and to enable the delivery of world class research.  SIDS and Kids WA rely on the support of the Community to help save babies’ lives and support those who have lost little ones such as the Brandis family.

Camp Quality / Wescarpade 2014

South West Personnel and Network Recruitment Group are again proud sponsors of the Bunbury Girls in car P76.  Wescarpade is the annual fundraising event for Camp Quality.  This funding enables Camp Quality to continue to deliver programs that build resilience and optimism for children living with cancer and their families.  The Girls had such great success in 2013 raising over $43,000, we wish them every success this year.

2014 Vinnies CEO Sleepout

On 19th June, Business Leaders will brave the freezing weather and experience homelessness first hand to help raise money and awareness of homeless people.  South West Personnel and Network Recruitment Group have donated to this great event.  Money raised through sponsorship will directly assist Vinnies to provide relief to the homeless through crisis accommodation, domestic violence support, soup van services and access to budget counselling, cooking skills and legal advice.  With the communities help, Vinnies can turn the tide and give people the opportunities they need to rebuild their lives.

Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research

South West Personnel and Network Recruitment Group have donated to the 2014 Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer which benefits the Perkins Institute of Medical Research.  This epic bike ride takes place in October and covers over 200 kilometres.  The funds raised will help to continue to research and identify specific genetic defects in cancer cells and the environmental factors which cause the disease.  South West Personnel wishes all participants the very best.

2014 Children's Festival - Circus Quirkus

South West Personnel is proud to have donated to the annual Children’s Festival – CIRCUS QUIRKUS to be held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on the 6th August hosted by the Bunbury Police and Community Youth Centre.  This event is organised to give the most disadvantaged children of our area a wonderful day to remember with one of the world’s best performers astounding the kids with acrobatics, clowning, juggling, death-defying stunts and lots of comedy!

South West Personnel's Morning Tea Fundraiser for Cancer

It’s frightening to think that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85.  For SWP’s Hannah Sharpe, knowing people who have been touched by cancer was reason enough to rally the troupes and hold an ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’ fundraiser on Wednesday 7 May 2014.

With a fantastic spread of food (courtesy of the office chocolate fundraising jar) 14 SWP staff assembled in the boardroom to partake in a rare morning tea at the office and to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause.

Hannah’s goal was to raise $100 and she set up a Cancer Council ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’ Host web page to track their progress.  Not even one week later and Hannah is pleased to announce SWP have exceeded their target, raising $230 … and counting!

All funds generated from morning teas across the country will help Cancer Council continue its cancer research, prevention and support services.  Last year they raised over $12.7 million and this year’s target is 35,000 morning tea events, raising $13 million.

If you’d like to contribute to SWP’s morning tea fundraiser, please follow the link to their web page:

Or, if you’d like to hold your own morning tea fundraiser, you can get more information at: www.biggestmorningtea.com.au

Hannah and the team at SWP look forward to raising even more funds next year, when they hold their next Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event.

Dalyellup Dockers Football Club Sponsorship

South West Personnel Sponsor the Dalyellup Dockers

The Dalyellup Dockers Football Club is gearing up for a very exciting year and new sponsors South West Personnel will be proudly cheering them on from the sidelines!

As the May 3 season launch draws closer, the Dalyellup Dockers Football Club (a partner club of the Fremantle Football Club) has excitedly accepted a 3-year Gold sponsorship from SWP.

Since its inception in 2009 the Club has grown to over 200 kids, with more than 150 kids making up 10 junior teams and another 50 in the 5-8 years Auskick competition.

Assistant Coach for the Docker’s Year-9 Team Jason Frisina, also SWP’s OSH Coordinator, explained that the teams “can expect to travel to games in Bunbury, Australind, Harvey, Brunswick and Collie – and this year for the first time, as far away as Dunsborough and Margaret River as new clubs join the league.  This will give them plenty of experience as the Club’s Year-9 Team aims for a spot in the South West Football League’s Colts competition in 2015.”

SWP’s sponsorship of the Dalyellup Dockers Football Club is another example of our ongoing commitment to supporting local community clubs and charities.
